State Library of New South Wales Foundation

State Library of New South Wales Foundation

The State Library of New South Wales Foundation was established in December 1987 to attract corporate and individual support for the State Library.

Cash donations to the Foundation are tax deductible within Australia.

The Foundation Board aims to build a capital fund. The interest from this fund is used to support State Library projects in four key areas:

  • preservation of the collection
  • purchase of additional items to enhance the collection
  • presentation of exhibitions
  • new technology projects.

To 31 May 1999, the Foundation has succeeded in raising more than $16 million in donations, pledges, bequests and gifts in kind.
